- tablet mode switch to ribbon or toolbar view
- Reduce friction in the view → edit transition
- View mode: add an inline "Switch to edit" overlay at the click point
- Add Notebookbar but initially collapsed in view mode (instead of the classic menu)
- Lost connection to server
- First-ever-transition hint about auto-save (and/or a Save As option on first edit)
- File > Options > "Something went wrong"
- Double-click in view mode enters edit mode at that spot
