NilClass#try

Calling +try+ on +nil+ always returns +nil+.
It becomes specially helpful when navigating through associations that may return +nil+.

  nil.try(:name) # => nil

Without +try+
  @person && [email protected]? && @person.children.first.name

With +try+
  @person.try(:children).try(:first).try(:name)
