- shred: report a FIFO, a directory and a missing file as GNU does
- env: list the state of the signals, not the actions taken
- uucore: strip the os error suffix when flushing stdout
- pr: report invalid numeric options and page ranges as GNU does
- timeout: return 128 + signal with --preserve-status and --kill-after
- chown, chgrp: say "cannot read directory" for a directory that does not open
- timeout: re-raising the child's signal dumps core in timeout itself (GNU disables core dumps first)
- mknod: MAJOR/MINOR rejects hex values
- chmod: -R reports only one of several errors
- chmod, chgrp: -R says "cannot access" for a directory it can't read
