- Every pipeline executor creates an epoll instance, a timer and a pipe that only async reads use; creating them on the first async task makes short queries over 100 Parquet files 5-11% faster
- clickhouse-local: Parquet chunks are copied out of the mmap and cold page faults read 128 KiB around each; decoding in place after exact read hints makes cold queries over 100 files up to 4.3x faster and warm q39 15% faster
- Text index: answer `match` with a pattern of letters and digits as `LIKE '%pattern%'`
